Sow directly outdoors March–June in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Prepare the soil by removing weeds and lightly raking to create a fine surface. Scatter seeds thinly (mixing with a little dry sand can help distribute them evenly) and gently rake or press into the soil. Seeds can also be sown in autumn for earlier flowering the following year.
